New Kitchen

July 2014

This is where the washer and dryer were in the segmented rooms that made up the back porch area

August 2014

Where the washer and dryer once lived

Exterior aluminum siding used for the ceiling

The many many layers of wall, there's even some cork in there!

View from the old kitchen into what will be our new kitchen.

This window looks on to our backyard.

What seemed like the endless process of pulling layers off the floor.

Extensive termite damage under all the layers

January 2015

The chimney from the back. The whole in the center is from where someone vented it, where I assume a wood burning heat or cook stove once stood.

A few of the many samples of vinyl flooring.

Strips of vinyl printed with a brick pattern nailed to the ceiling, maybe used for spacers.

All the layers FINALLY removed!!

The seven foot deep pit found under the floor.

November 2018
Amazon.com. for all  some of your home heating needs.
With some struggle, Pete managed to install this gas heater by himself, after two contractors blew us off.

Hooking up a new gas line to the manifold.

Setting up for the installation in the kitchen. We had to go back to Lowe's a second time for the correct parts.

Soapy water can be sprayed on the lines to check for gas leaks.

It was stressful trying to get this thing working! In the end there was a standard flat screw on the bottom of the unit that needed to be adjusted to get the pilot to light. There was nothing in the directions about it, it wasn't obvious at all!

It was such a victory as well as a great relief getting this properly installed!

November 2019
This sideboard will be one of our kitchen counters

December 2019
The first radiator in the house was installed in the kitchen. Pete want able to paint the segments on time.

June 2020
We found this copper washing machine that we will eventually make into our kitchen sink.
